10 Principles for more humanistic, creative and sustainable brand interiors, spatial experiences and objects

This first introduction is somewhat long. Please bare with me.

When I founded ENTIÈRE it was to gain momentum in a way of thinking and working that I’ve developed along my path as a designer in various fields, a perspective that I think I’ve always had in a way. A deep interest for the experience as a whole.

Industrialism, the constant quest for trends and newness need to be shifted towards a more holistic approach. I am absolutely bored with it. On top of the damaging effecct it has on our planet. Design is connected to commersialism and production, and though I for one am not against beautiful and considerate products and interiors, and love an intriguing sensual store experience, it´s not equal to. Design is a larger, fundamentally human process. We’ve kind of always been designers. Design is figuring out and give shape to how we can live, work, be creative..find more sustainable ways…it can inspire us, make us feel something, and guide us with purpose. Design is also not knowing the result, but having a process to explore and see where it takes us. I definitely don’t have all the answers. But I do have a way of working and thinking, learnings that I’ve distilled down to these principles.

I set up Entière LAB, to be able to work more freely and experimental with ideas, tools and also curate events for dialogue. What I discovered? Well, if we can work like that with brand interiors, exhibitions and object creation, I’ll never be bored again.

This holistic approach has the full human experience as a starting point, and therefor transcending design disciplines, touches all senses, and finds new ways to explore and re-establish our connection to the Earth. Yes, it’s a bit more complicated, but if we work together with different skill-sets and perspectives, and set up really good frameworks and tools for collaboration, what we can come up with will certainly be both intriguing and really shift things. And that is much more inspiring to work towards right?

Entière LAB – To keep our creative spirit high and free, we like to experiment with more conceptual ideas, with ways on how we can create experience for all senses, and explore collaborations with other creatives. Outside our client projects, we therefor explore and experiment within the Entière holistic approach* in what we call Entière LAB to push boundaries and gain insights to bring into our work.

Introducing:
10 PRINCIPLES.

Each of these principles are essential aspects for a more holistic approach, starting with a clear foundation, working through different perspectives, and focusing it all – orchestrating and mastering the whole – into one coherent human experience.

It might not be an easy process, but a fulfilling, intriguing and collaborating one. And it’s guiding principles that will take us further, to more engaging and considerate spatial experiences and objects for a creative lifestyle.

Mockup of the 10 Principles of Holistic Design Book, a work in progress…

This is the first of a series.
Walking us through each principle.

I have this dream of turning these principles into a book, and I put in time each day to write, collect and make it happen.

Manifestation is powerful, right? So I did this mockup to make it more approachable.

It’s also meant to invite you into the process, sharing insights, maybe collaborate around a principle or co-write a chapter. If you feel the calling, don’t hesitate to reach out. My door is always open for that, as long as I feel it’s truly aligning.

I can see it as a book, an exhibition, seminar series…

The bi-weekly (my intention) journal will explore each principle and I see it as a way of sharing it, be in dialogue with you, collect more insight and materials. And. See where the path leads me. Leads us.
