“Gone Fishing! Design Bar Winner of Interieur Awards 2014, Interieur Biennale, Kortrijk, Belgium "New Swedish trio winner in Interieur Awards 2014 Having competed against over 70 candidates from 18 countries, the Swedish contribution "Gone Fishing!" won first prize in the international competition Interieur Awards 2014.”

The winning entry Gone Fishing! is a tribute to local fishing heritage and offers a holistic interior design and food concept that focuses on sustainable marine activities and fishing practices. The project is a collaboration between the design team and supporting companies – the global carpet tile producer Interface and the global yarn producer Aquafil. Interface's carpet collection Net Effect made with yarn from recycled fishing nets is central to the materiality of the pavilion.

The competition is part of Biennale Interieur 2014 which takes place between 17-26 October 2014 and which is one of Europe's largest fairs for contemporary interior architecture and furniture design with close to 90 000 visitors. Winning the competition gives the opportunity to realize a pavilion with a bar and restaurant for visitors and exhibitors during the fair.

A unanimous jury nominated the winning entry with the following motivation: ”Gone Fishing … appealed with a subtle graphic language and a sustainable fish and seafood concept."

A paper tray print, highlighting how so called ghost nets are being taken out of the sea and turned into a yarn, used to clad the entire interior of this space, including the handmade net.

The “Gone Fishing” restaurant concept won the prestigious Biennale Interieur Award and was realized during the design fair 2014.
